Have your drivers license, registration and insurance ready. Every driver must have this. Everyone entering the Depot must have a valid picture I.D. (School, state, etc. ) Keep your I.D. with you at all times. If you think someone is to yound to need an I.D. please call the MCRD Provost Marshal's (MCRD Police) office to confirm. SCHEDULING A FLIGHT OUT OF SAN DIEGO AFTER THE GRADUATION
The Family Day typically ends by 2:00 PM. If you schedule a flight for 4:00 PM or later you'll have plenty of time to make it. The Graduation Ceremony typically ends by 12:30 PM. If you schedule a flight for 3:00 PM or later you'll have plenty of time to make it.
The MCRD is five (5) minutes from the airport. Please allow for time to depart the base, as there are many families leaving at this time of day. This usually takes 20 minutes.

SATO Travel arranges many of the new Marines flights home. When you book an airline reservation through SATO Travel, they can usually coordinate your air travel with your new Marines, based on the information you give them.

BRINGING BIG RIGS ON THE DEPOT
No big rigs allowed. The best place to park them is on Pacific Highway, across from Old Town State Historic Park. You can walk onto the Depot from there. The walk is about 1 mile. A lot of rigs park overnight next to "Perry's Cafe - The Breakfast House". It's just down the road from the California Highway Patrol office on Pacific Highway. (CHP).
PETS
Pets are discouraged. Service animals are allowed.
WHAT TO WEAR
Military are encouraged to wear their uniforms. Civilians should dress in comfortable clothes and wear comfortable shoes. Wear sunscreen.
WALKING AROUND THE DEPOT
Don't ever, ever, walk on the Parade Deck. The Parade Deck is sacred ground. Stay on the sidewalks, keep off the grass and out of the streets. Remember, this is a working military Depot.
MCRD SHUTTLE SERVICE AROUND THE DEPOT
Every twenty (20) minutes the red Bay View Restaurant shuttle bus travels between:
- Recreation Center (Locker Room Bar and Grill)
- Museum Flag Pole (On the Parade Deck)
- Mall (right near the Marine Corps Store)
- Bay View Restaurant
