WHAT'S FAMILY READINESS?
Per MCO 1754.6A, "Family readiness is defined as families who are prepared and equipped with the skills and tools to successfully meet the challenges of the military lifestyle.”

WHAT IS A MARINE'S FAMILY?
A Marine's Family is defined as all members of a Marine’s Family. A Marine has three Families; the one they are “Born Into", sworn into" and "Married Into".

WHAT'S A FAMILY READINESS OFFICER (FRO)?
The FRO is the face of the Commanding officer’s vision for family readiness and will provide direct coordination for the unit family readiness program.

UNIT FAMILY READINESS VOLUNTEER TRAINING

A Family Readiness Volunteer is a spouse or designated parent or extended family member of the unit, appointed in writing by the commanding Officer. These Volunteers support the unit family readiness program, in several ways (Welcoming unit families, providing feedback from unit families and assisting with information and referral services).

Family Readiness Volunteer Training is conducted monthly. Sessions rotate between days and evenings to accommodate working spouses.

To register for an upcoming session contact the Family Readiness Volunteer Trainer at 619-524-8030.

We offer Training to Command Teams, Family Readiness Officers and Family Readiness Volunteers. We’re working to support the needs of the units and their Families; our goal is to empower families with the tools needed to succeed in a Military environment.
