Home Visitors work one on one with families to enhance their parenting skills and provide needed support. The Home Visitor helps families learn to cope with stress, isolation, deployment and family separation issues, as well as, the every day demands of parenthood. Any Marine family with a child five years or younger is eligible to receive these services.
Home visits are arranged, when possible, at the convenience of the Marine family. Maximum effect is achieved when both parents can be involved. Your home visitor may be a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) or Registered Nurse (RN), who has extensive knowledge of the issues confronting parents in the military. Sensitive to the many challenges and unique stresses of military life, the home visitor will be available to clients by cell phone for questions and concerns. |
