MCRD HISTORY

Marine Corps Recruit Depot broke ground on March 2, 1919. It’s known for its unique Spanish colonial revival style appearance. The overall site and specific building plans were developed by renowned architect, Bertram Goodhue, who also designed the building built in San Diego’s Balboa Park for the 1915 Panama-California Exposition. Today, the depot has 388 acres and 25 building listed on the national register of historic places. Due to its historic significance, there is limited availability for advertising. Therefore, all advertising is considered to have significant value if permitted to display on or in the base.

Sponsoring Events: Our events range from Expos & Fairs to Fun Runs. Events range in attendance from 200 to over 2,000. We offer sponsorship levels, with:

Web presence: We offer many advertising options. The MCCS will get your message in front of military personnel on- and off-base through our website (https://sandiego.usmc-mccs.org), our Facebook and Instagram account!

Banner stations located throughout the base will provide high visibility for your company. Our wall wraps, located in our Community Center and Gym, will provide your company exposure to thousands of active duty and authorized patrons. Our homepage web ads have a high open-rate, garnering attention from military families, veterans, and more.

Physical presence: The MCRD offers great locations that could have your company’s advertisement. We have inside and outside areas that are sure to expose your brand to a high number of people.

Promotional items and special offers: Bring your promotional campaign to the base! We can distribute your promotional items and offers to our patrons.
