Mission: The School Liaison’s mission is to identify and coordinate community resources to reduce the impact of the mobile lifestyle on military school-age children and families; to implement predictable support services that assist children/youth with relocations, life transitions, and achieving academic success; and to provide a wide range of resources that facilitate school transitions to parents, student, schools, commanders, and communities for both local area and WRR.

The School Liaison Program offers PCS support for your family to ensure a smooth transition.

One of the top priorities of each School Liaison is to provide parents and students with relevant information to promote and enhance their learning success.

California Legal Requirements for Homeschooling:
California Education Code (EC) Section 33190 states that persons, firms, associations, partnerships, or corporations offering or conducting private school instruction at the elementary or high school level for students between the ages of six and eighteen years shall file the Private School Affidavit (PSA) between October 1 and 15.

The Adopt-A-School Program is a voluntary partnership between a school and a military unit. Working in partnership with school officials, a unit formally “adopts” a local elementary, middle or high school. This Partnership develops a mutually beneficial relationship between the Marine Corps and area schools.

Objectives include expanding students’ learning activities, providing students with positive role models and assisting teachers by providing additional resources, alternatives and supplements to classroom learning experiences.

Marines, family members or civilians interested in volunteering in public schools, should call the School Liaison office.

The School Liaison Program provides military families connections or referrals to other support services locally and in the WRR community.
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is an application for federal, state and institutional grants, work-study and loans.
