Youth Sports is a skill based program open to children ages 4-11. Rather than focusing on competition, which is an inherit part of sports, children are provided the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of a sport, in addition to good sportsmanship and the benefits of teamwork. Try outs are not required, as all skill levels are welcome to participate. All players are also offered equal playing time during games. Opportunities can include team sports, skill development clinics and sports specific camps. All coaches are volunteers and certified through the National Alliance for Youth Sports and have an extensive background check before working with the children. Coaches are always needed in our program and training is provided to those interested. Please contact your local Youth Sports office to learn more.
Youth Sports
Core Value
Our programs are a great introduction to sports, where everyone plays and you compete for FUN! The goal of MCRD MCCS Youth Sports experience is to teach the enjoyment of playing on a team as a character building activity without the pressure of a highly competitive program. We strive for participation, physical fitness, fair play, positive sportsmanship, and game skills. As members of the National Alliance for Youth Sports, we believe that every child regardless of their abilities should have an opportunity to positively benefit from meaningful participation.
Sports include Baseball, Basketball, Cheerleading, Flag Football, Soccer and Softball league sports and clinics. We are an organized partnership based sports program for boys and girls ages 5-16 (age varies by sport), that focuses on safety, fun, participation and development.
All coaches are background checked and certified through the National Youth Sports Coaching Alliance. Parents will be required to participate in a NAYS Parent Orientation/Training program.
